Privacy Policy for Video Recorder & AI Captions

ELIT VIRTUAL LLC ("ELIT Virtual," "we," "us," or "our") provides the Video Recorder & AI Captions browser extension and its managed AI services (collectively, the "Service"). Our mailing address is 1942 Broadway Ste 314C, Boulder, CO 80302-5233, USA.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we handle, why we handle it, and the choices available to you.

1. The short version

Video Recorder & AI Captions is designed to keep recordings, video clips, screenshots, captions, titles, and local settings on your device. We do not upload or store that media on our servers.

When you choose Fast Captions, Video Recorder & AI Captions creates a temporary audio-only copy of the selected clip and sends it to our transcription provider through our server. We do not store the audio or video. When you choose another AI assist, the Service sends the relevant transcript text to our server and then to our managed AI provider. We do not retain transcript text after processing it.

2. Information we handle

Information stored locally on your device

Video Recorder & AI Captions stores the following in Chrome extension storage on your device:

• Audio recordings, video clips, thumbnails, recording titles, and editable captions.
• Settings such as video format and recording preferences.

This local content is not sent to ELIT Virtual merely because you record, caption, edit, or export it.

Account and Managed AI information

If you choose Managed AI, we handle:

• Your email address and account identifier to authenticate you and deliver sign-in codes.
• Your plan, monthly finished-clip and AI-assist usage, request type, selected managed model, request timestamps, and limited usage measurements such as input and output character counts.
• A temporary audio-only copy of the video clip you select for Fast Captions. It is transmitted to create timed captions and is not stored by us after processing.
• The transcript text you submit for AI caption improvement or title/social-caption generation. We transmit it to process the request but do not intentionally store the transcript text in our database.

Fast Captions transmits audio only, not the source video, to create timed captions. Other Managed AI requests send text derived from captions or transcripts, not the underlying media. We do not store the audio or underlying recording after processing.

Payment information

When you purchase Studio, payments are processed by Stripe. We do not collect or store full credit-card numbers. We may store Stripe customer, payment, subscription, and transaction identifiers, along with purchase status, to provide Studio access, prevent fraud, and handle support.

Information from support requests

If you contact us, we receive the information you choose to include, such as your email address and message.

3. How we use information

We use information to:

• Operate the extension and preserve your local preferences.
• Authenticate Managed AI accounts and prevent unauthorized use.
• Process AI requests and apply monthly finished-clip and AI-assist allowances.
• Process purchases, refunds, and customer support.
• Protect the Service, investigate abuse, and comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell personal information, run advertising profiles, or use recordings, videos, captions, or transcript text to train our own AI models.

4. When information is shared

We share only what is needed to provide the Service:

• Supabase: account authentication, plan and allowance records, and the server endpoint that relays AI requests.
• Resend: delivery of Managed AI sign-in codes by email.
• DeepSeek: transcript text submitted for a Managed AI request, to generate the requested result.
• Groq: temporary audio-only data from a clip you choose for Fast Captions, to create timed captions.
• Stripe: payment and billing information when you make a purchase.

We may also disclose information where required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect people, the Service, and our rights.

5. Retention and deletion

Local recordings and captions remain on your device until you delete them from Video Recorder & AI Captions, clear extension data, or remove the extension. Removing the extension may delete local extension data; export anything you want to keep first.

We retain account, plan, billing, and support information only as long as reasonably needed to provide the Service, resolve disputes, meet accounting or legal obligations, and protect against fraud. You may request account deletion by emailing bilaal@sudarfa.com. We will delete or de-identify data that we are not required or permitted to retain.

6. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information we control. Our managed provider keys are held only as server secrets and are never included in the extension package. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your choices and rights

You can use local recording and caption features without an account. You can sign out of Studio & AI, delete local recordings, and request access, correction, or deletion of account information by contacting us.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable privacy laws. We will respond to requests as required by applicable law and may need to verify your identity before acting.

8. Children

Video Recorder & AI Captions is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us so we can take appropriate action.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the Service or legal requirements change. We will post the revised policy with a new "Last updated" date. If a change materially affects how we handle personal information, we will provide additional notice where required.
